A Perfect Day

So my fave day in Ixtapa had to be Thursday. We had the morning off so 6 of us headed over to Ixtapa isla. Before we took the water taxi we got see something that most people will never see in there life…salt water Croc’s in their “natural” habitat. Yea, seriously right? Makes ya think twice about venturing into the water…haha. The good thing is the crocs are well feed, so they rarely ever venture even onto the beach. let alone in the ocean.

After that we headed to the water taxi so we could get to Ixtapa Isla. Ixtapa Isla is a “touristy” place, but in the most tame way. There are beaches along the island with about 10 restaurants (per cove) where they catch the food and grill it for you there (if you like that sort of thing). And, for the record, I did try LOBSTER…it wasn’t TOO bad :)….After eating you could also go snorkeling or ride seadoo’s or banana boats…etc. So relaxing. It was great to relax with some amazing peeps. After lunch we ended up going snorkeling (Taylor’s first time) in water that was so merky yet FULL of sealife. Makes me excited thinking about snorkeling in Turks again!! Haha…

After the isla trip we had our normal afternoon session…which was followed by an amazing relaxing evening…nuff said there 🙂

Coed Tourney, ACE, and dwtn nightlife

So Wed (midweek) meant it was time for the coed tourney. Both me and Angela decided to play…which ended up being a total blast (with the exception of the last game, in the last match of the day…no more words are needed here…haha). Later in the day we had clinic and then the infamous game of ACE….can we say YIKES. If you were there u understand…haha. After ACE it was time to head into the city for some Ixtapa nightlife…so much fun! I always love a chance to dance on the bar…ahaha!

A Yee Haw kinda of day

So Tuesday evening was the “cowboy” attire evening (hence the title of this blog)…hahaha…Actually, the day started off with the doubles tourney in the morning. Once that ended a group of us went sailing in our off time (Andy, Kelly, and I were on one boat while Jules and Dave were on the other boat). Even though there was no wind, it was still fun (and relaxing). And I must comment on learning a rando clip that afternoon called the “doggie bounce”…haha…too funny.

Ixtapa Day One…Superbowl Sunday

So this past week I was in Ixtapa, Mexico. I posted my videoblog first because it just brings backs memories of how amazing Ixtapa truly was. Ixtapa lies 10 minutes north of Zihuatanejo…the Club Med Resort was just north of downtown Ixtapa (on its own cove). From the moment I arrived it just felt like a different location. From the ocean to the pool to the resturants (that all had open air ocean front seating) to the spectacular Sunset…so amazing. I had actually flown in on Super Bowl Sunday, off a redeye from LA. So needless to say, I was a tiny bit jet lagged….hahaa…So after we set up the nets we were off to watch the superbowl (Cardinals vs. Steelers). And not only was the game exciting in the end, but the Ixtapa sunset was breathtaking….what a way to start the week off!!

Well, now it is time for my pictures…

Cheri’s Bday Part 3 (the oh la la party)

Ok, so here is the third part of my sister’s on going bday bash. This time the party was at Evolve Dance Studios in LA for some pole dancing/burlesque lessons. Yea, can we say a work out? And burlesque is so freaking hard to pull off if you have never done it…it rocked (plus not only did we have a great teacher, but an amazing burlesque dancer herself, Ashley Yano). What was funny was that when we arrived everything was dark (like no one was there yet) so Cheri, Amber, and I headed up these stairs to the studio and the studio was open…so we walked inside. Literally after walking in and setting our stuff down the alarm goes off (talk about an annoyance and a shock). We totally jetted out of there and ran into our instructor walking up the stairs! Too funny!

Anyways, here are some of the pics from the evening 🙂

Cheri’s Bday part 2 (Disney Madness)

So, for Cheri’s actual bday we headed to the Happiest Place on Earth!! DISNEYLAND! Hehehe…so objections on my part of course! And since Cheri’s pass expired, we went on her bday so she would get in free (a Disneyland promotion going on right now). Nice right? Anyways, Cheri + me + Katie + a camera = CRAZINESS. Hahaha…here is the video from the day AND the pics….

Cheri’s Bday part 1 (this is a 3 part series…haha)

So, for Cherbear’s bday, instead of doing a weekend away this year she decided to do different events with different friends. First up….DOWNTOWN LA….dinner on Olvera St, followed by dancing at Firecracker at Grand Star in Chinatown. Of course, I had been to Grand Star before.

It was my first time having dinner on Olvera Street (and my sis knowing how much I HEART mexican food knew I would love it).

After dinner we walked from Olvera Street to Chinatown. Hahaha….good times. When Firecracker is the promoter it becomes the best underground hip hop club in LA. VERY UNIQUE, ECLECTIC, and FUN!

The Lil Ladies in Pink (aka Beach Babes)

For those who know, I am directing a new program for Mizuno Long Beach called the Beach Babes. It is a beginner’s program that is more like a “local” program, where we have around 25 girls who practice a few times a week and 1 coach per 5-6 kids. And these youngin’s are between the ages 6-12. CO CUTE! And, for those who truly know me, know that me and Pink are NOT FRIENDS. Hahaha…but for some reason I have been truly embracing my inner pink with these girls. Pink shirts, pink back packs, pink socks, pink sweats…oh yea, those kids go all out! CLASSIC!

Anyways, we had our first tournament this past weekend (imagine 25 kids and their parents experiencing a “controlled” club tournament for the first time). For the most part, I thought it went well! The kids played well and you can definitely see the improvement already! Of course, I have some fab coaches and help (from the kids on MLB scholarship)…

1 tournament down 4 more to go….here are a few pics from the tourney…
