You ever find a quote so you?

Wow…so no I am not one of those who think I am cursed at love, but I will say this quote (from one of my fave movie’s “The Holiday”) hits it on the head…

“I’ve found almost everything ever written about love to be true. Shakespeare said “Journeys end in lovers meeting.” What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said “love is blind”. Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there’s another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space! Yes, you are looking at one such individual.”

Quotes From My Fave On Screen Heroine’s

So last night, after watching the final episode of Sex and the City on WGN and hearing one of my all time fave quotes about love I started thinking about a couple other quotes that I totally agree with and am looking for. Ironic that Valentine’s day is next week…but I promise that this has NOTHING to do with it :)!

Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City): “I’m looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love. And I don’t think that love is here in this expensive suite in this lovely hotel in Paris.”

Ever After: Danielle De Barbarac “Just breathe…” (this one is something I tell myself everyday)

“Prince Henry: And we, princess, are supposed to live happily ever after.
Danielle: Says who?
Prince Henry: You know, I don’t know.”

Pride & Prejudice (Mr. Darcy & Elizabeth)
“Mr. Darcy: How are you this evening, my dear?
Elizabeth Bennet: Very well. Only, I wish you would not call me “my dear.”
Mr. Darcy: Why?
Elizabeth Bennet: Because it’s what my father calls my mother whenever he’s cross about something.
Mr. Darcy: Well, what endearments am I allowed?
Elizabeth Bennet: Well, let me think…”Lizzie” for everyday, “my pearl” for Sundays, and “Goddess Divine,” but only on special occasions.
Mr. Darcy: And what am I to call you when I’m cross? “Mrs. Darcy?”
Elizabeth Bennet: No, you may only call me “Mrs. Darcy” when you are completely, perfectly and incandescently happy.
Mr. Darcy: And how are you this evening… Mrs. Darcy? Mrs. Darcy… Mrs. Darcy… Mrs. Darcy!
[kisses her]” (Fave quote series of all)
